The promotion was RM2388 for the 32" Samsung LCD TV+ free HDMI DVD Player. The usual price for this model LA32R81B is RM2799. In fact about one year ago, some places were selling it for RM3999.

Jimmy's kids Max & Clarisse happened to tag along with us on our trip to Sekinchan. So while waiting for Lance and Janet to arrive, I introduced them to my dog Stitch.

Stitch had just been discharged from the animal clinic and was kinda weak. But he was delighted to see visitors coming to visit him.

Dinner at Sushi Zanmai

About 20 of us decided to have our dinner at Sushi Zanmai in Sunway Pyramid. Sushi Zanmai is a Japanese restaurant located above Kim Gary. They offer value for money Japanese food.

Then after dinner, we headed to the video arcade to play a few rounds of Outrun. Our special guest for the night was Zee the drifter who was one of the 2 Malaysians to have represented our country in an international drift event in USA.

Carrefour Subang Jaya has revamped their top floor into a one stop shop IT centre. You can buy PC and peripherals all under one roof. The cheapest desktop PC I saw was Lenovo starting from RM988 without monitor/screen. The cheapest notebook pc was also from Lenovo priced at RM1799.

Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH L-X025

It finally arrived! The package that I have been waiting for
It came with Bubble wraps and protective foams
Sealed from water damage

Finally the wait is over. The package that I was anxiously waiting for has arrived from Japan. It's my precious...my Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH (L-X025). This lens is highly sought after by owners of the Four Thirds lens mount system (Panasonic, Olympus, Sigma) and there is a global shortage for this highly praised lens. Thankfully I managed to order it via http://shashinki.com/

The moment I saw the real life sample shots taken with this super sharp fast lens, I knew I had to get it.
Furthermore, the wide aperture of F/1.4 is perfect for low light photography.

Sushi Zanmai Sunway Pyramid

Small size assorted sushi with rice
Yummy tasting Potato Curry
Sukiyaki is one of the most value for money dish here.
View all 4 photos...
Sushi Zanmai is an affordable Japanese restaurant in Sunway Pyramid just above Kim Gary (there are 2 japanese restaurant above Kim Gary).

This place was recommended by my Japanese colleague Shinya Sakata (the best Japanese go-karter in Cyberjaya) therefore I trust his taste.

The quality of food at Sushi Zanmai is very good indeed. Price wise, it's cheaper than most japanese restaurant that you find in hotels.

The most value for money dish at Sushi Zanmai would have to be the Sukiyaki.

Oooh looks yummy!! Is the place halal? I'm drooling... I love japanese food <3 Fri 11-Jan-2008 16:07

It should be halal as I don't see anything on the menu that suggest otherwise except for japanese beer and sake. Sat 12-Jan-2008 18:11

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Four Thirds mount DSLR system

The famous Simon Yam pose
Leica D Vario-Elmar 14–50mm/F3.8–5.6/ASPH MEGA OIS L10 Kit lens
Panasonic DMC-L10 Articulate Flip-out screen
View all 4 photos...
I finally bought the Panasonic DMC-L10 during my holiday trip to Singapore. I just couldn't wait for the L10 to come to Malaysia, so I decided to buy it first from Singapore.

Why did I buy this Panasonic DSLR? Well there are a few reasons but basically this camera meet my needs.

And my needs are:
- a DSLR system where I can use lenses from other brands (currently Leica, Olympus & Sigma)
- a stabilized Leica lens (I've always wanted a Leica..who wouldn't?)
- Live View when taking shots from weird angles when it's impossible to view with the viewfinder
- an articulate flip-out LCD screen (it compliments the Live View very well)

The Face Detection Auto Focus was a bonus since I wasn't expecting to use it. But soon I was addicted to using the Face Detection Auto Focus when in Live View mode (available only with the 14-150mm & L10 kit lens for the time being) when snapping photos of human subjects.

There are lots of other features which I have yet to explore. My next plan is to obtain the super sharp LEICA D SUMMILUX 25mm/F1.4 ASPH.

The photos here were taken by Lance Chee
More photos of the Panasonic DMC-L10 could be found at http://lancechee.multiply.com/photos/album/75/Panasonic_DMC-L10_-_Digital_SLR

Bro, know who I am? Anyway, any reason why you chose the L10 over the Oly E510? The 2 are almost the same but of course with the Lumix you get a Leica kit lens. Fri 11-Jan-2008 10:23

OSFlanker, u r from MyKart rite? I choosen the L10 for its articulate flip-out LCD screen which is similar to the one on the more expensive Olympus E3.
Also rumors has it that the Panasonic L10 shares the same LiveMos image sensor as the Olympus E3. Btw, the E3 is out of my budget.

Loyal to Panasonic? I'm still with my old FZ5. I don't shoot much nowadays. Waiting for hubby to upgrade his SLR body, only then I will beg him to pass it to me (only if he wants me to inherit it..haha) Sat 15-Mar-2008 22:20
